About the course

This project will directly benefit ethnic minority women (mainly of Pakistani and Bangladeshi heritage), who are looking to gain more knowledge about employment in the UK. Courses will address their multiple barriers to employment, including IT support and online job search, disengagement from essential services and also supports and addresses poor mental health and low English skills.

What you’ll learn

The activities we deliver as part of Job Steps for each participant includes:

– An initial assessment to tailor our support to the needs of each beneficiary and inform an individual action plan
– Six English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes focused on communication in the workplace
– Six Employment-focused seminars. These will include guest speakers and/or visits

After taking part in the project, participants will:
• have a much greater understanding of how work can improve their health, wellbeing and economic circumstances
• show improved motivation and confidence
• be better integrated and recognise the contribution they can make for themselves, their families and society through employment
• be in employment or better placed to find work through IAG and basic skills development

Does this course cover travel costs

This depends on the course and if we have funding available for travel costs. Please speak to receptionist who can let you know if this course includes travel costs. Please note travel costs only cover public transport, usually bus fare.
