According to a Joseph Rowntree Foundation report, poverty levels amongst some ethnic minority groups are three times the national average. QED was founded in December 1990 to help address the causes of these predicaments and to improve the educational, social and economic position of disadvantage ethnic minorities.
Our main focus is to enable and support mainstream organisations to work more effectively with disadvantaged ethnic minority communities. In addition QED manages social enterprises that deliver services in education, training, employment and health as a specialist provider.
We work in partnership with public, private and the voluntary sectors to achieve these objectives.
The organisations and communities and we work with continue to face new challenges in working towards a harmonious, cohesive and prosperous society. QED will continue to turn these challenges into opportunities.
